Just down the road in St. Merryn, The Dog House is one of those rare finds that hits all the right notes. Run by Johnny and his lovely family—the Elderfields—it’s a relaxed, dog-friendly (dog friendly in bar area/ outdoor only) spot where the welcome is warm, the beers are cold, and the pizza? Absolutely spot on 👌🍕

We’re a little bit obsessed with the Cabra—tangy goats’ cheese, that perfect base, crisp and chewy in all the right places. It’s the kind of pizza you still think about the next day. 🤤

There’s a laid-back outdoor seating area too—perfect for sunny evenings, muddy paws and salty hair. Grab a table, order a round, and take your time.

Inside, it’s full of rustic charm—reclaimed doors from Lloyd’s of London, bits of local history and a good dose of character.

This is Cornwall at its best: unfussy, welcoming, and full of soul.
